Despite his youthful appearance, Juan Manuel García Fernández is a veteran of guitar making, as well as a notable flamenco guitar player. His passion took hold at an early age, when he was little and his brother took home Camarón and Paco de Lucía records. That taste for flamenco grew over time to a love for classical music and guitar in general. In 1991, Juan Manuel began his path as a guitar maker in a construction course taught by Juan Miguel Carmona. Later he attended a course taught by Jesús Bellido and Rafael Moreno, and finally a third construction course taught by Jesús Bellido and Manuel Bellido. Without a doubt, as a guitar maker, his greatest influence has been that of maestro Rafael Moreno, through years of community friendships between workshops.
Juan Manuel García Fernández is a very active guitar maker in the musical culture of the city of Granada, both as a guitarist and as a regular speaker at conferences and exhibitions related to the world of the guitar.
